Me Against Her

This is not my first time blogging, I have a few blogs out there but I never thought of doing one like this.

Truly the inspiration came from two people. A colleague of mine who started a book review blog. I thought that was a great idea since she enjoys reading so much as well as writing. Why not combine the two things you love the most to make it even greater? The other person was an artiste I found out about on Twitter and her name is Wish. After hearing what she had to offer I felt I should share it with others and also share my love for music.

The first song I heard from her was Used to Love You and I fell in love with it almost immediately.

Right now I am in that zone where I miss what R&B sounded like in the 90’s. I know that music evolves but the R&B that we get now cannot compare to some of the greats we had during that period. Listening to ‘Used to Love You’ took me back, from her vocals to the beat to the lyrics, everything was perfect and I thought, where was this girl all the time?

I found her on twitter and followed and learnt that she had a mixtape coming out and I could not wait. It was officially released on August 7 and it is entitled ‘Me Against Her’.

It took me a while to sit down and soak in the 15 tracks but when I did I was not disappointed, she maintains that 90’s feel throughout the album.
The songs are about love and relationships, it’s an album people will definitely relate to, no doubt about that.

I have a few favourites, ‘Everything From You’, ‘What’s her Face’ and ‘Hole in My Head’. I know this girl could be huge if given that opportunity but in the meantime I’ll keep supporting her and listening to her music.

Here’s her website check it out and download her mixtape. If you listen to it, let me know what you think.
