The Oscars

I usually avoid watching the Oscars mostly because it is so boring and most of the films I’ve never seen so I am neither here nor there about who wins but this year was different. I must admit I only tuned in to see Adele (my love) perform but boy was I surprised when hers wasn’t the only thrilling performance. Jennifer Hudson killed it when she performed her hit, “And I Am Telling You’ from Dreamgirls (the film she won the Oscar for best supporting actress in 2007) during the tribute to Musicals. JHud can saaaang!!! Then came Adele (my love), she performed ‘Skyfall’ from the film ‘Skyfall’ so effortlessly. Some said it wasn’t the best performance and I will agree but it was still good and she won an Oscar for best song. Another surprise for me was seeing Barbra Streisand, all the gay men on my twitter feed was having a fit at this point. She sang “The Way We Were’ during the In Memoriam segment and she was amazing, even my 92-year-old grandmother came out to give her a standing ovation. I don’t want to take away from the great actors, writers, animators, editors who were honoured at the awards but musically this was best Oscars for me. Take a look at the links below, let’s hope they are not removed.

UPDATE! I can’t believe I forgot Miss Shirley Bassey! This woman came out there during the James Bond tribute and showed these current singers how it is done. LIKE A BOSS!
