Bunji Garlin who brought us the hit track ‘Differentology‘, has given music fans a new song, one I can definitely relate to.
Firstly, for those who don’t know, tabanca, according to Urban Dictionary, means “an extreme sadness and/or a depression following one’s breakup or separation from one’s significant other.” and you can experience this kind of sadness when Trinidad and Tobago Carnival is over. If you are not familiar with our festival, read my post on it here and you will understand why.
It is just a period that is filled with good music, good vibes, a great time with friends and even strangers and we can’t wait until it is Carnival again.
This song makes me feel the Carnival Tabanca all over again. Bunji’s smooth vocals and the mellow vibe of the song is a winning combination. I also love the imagery he paints with his lyrics as he recalls his memories of Carnival.
I love the direction Bunji is taking with his music and I can’t wait to hear more.
Listen to the song below
Loveeeeeeeeeeeeee it! I get it every year after Carnival!
Me too!
